HANOI, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- The monthly average income of Vietnamese laborers in 2024 reached 8.5 million Vietnamese dong (over 334 U.S. dollars) per capita, up 1.9 million dong (75 dollars) compared to 2020, said the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs on Friday.
The unemployment rate in the urban areas remained below 3 percent while the proportion of skilled laborers reached 69 percent, said the ministry.
Vietnam has sent 150,000 workers abroad this year, covering 120 percent of target.
Currently, there are nearly 700,000 Vietnamese working abroad, bringing home 3.5 to 4 billion dollars each year. ■
