BANGKOK, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's auto production extended its contraction in November due to a decline in output for both the domestic market and exports, data from the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) showed on Tuesday.
Thai auto manufacturers produced 117,251 vehicles last month, down 28.23 percent from a year earlier and accelerating from a 25.13 percent fall in October as local demand for pickup trucks and trucks slumped, according to the FTI.
For the first 11 months of 2024, auto production tumbled 20.14 percent over the previous year to 1,364,119 units, despite significant growth in output for pure-electric and hybrid-electric vehicles, said FTI Automotive Industry Club spokesperson Surapong Paisitpattanapong. ■
