BAMIYAN, Afghanistan, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- One commuter lost his life and 14 others sustained injuries in a road accident that occurred in central Afghanistan's Bamiyan province on Monday night, provincial police spokesman Mohammad Khawani Rasa said Tuesday.
The mishap took place when a mini-bus collided with a truck in Yakawlang district, leaving a commuter dead on the spot and injuring 14 others, six of whom were in critical condition, the official added.
Dilapidated roads, reckless driving on congested highways, lack of security measures during traveling, and short of traffic signs often lead to deadly traffic accidents in the war-battered Afghanistan. ■
