ISTANBUL, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- Türkiye's Antalya Province welcomed a record 16.6 million foreign tourists in the first 11 months of 2024, marking an 8-percent increase year-on-year, local authorities announced on Tuesday.
With a population of 2.36 million, Antalya had attracted 32.2 percent of Türkiye's foreign visitors by the end of October, ranking second only to Istanbul, according to data from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Türkiye, which ranked 5th globally in tourist arrivals in 2023, had received 55 million visitors by early November, and aims to welcome 61 million visitors and receive 60 billion U.S. dollars in revenue by the end of the year, as announced by Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy. ■
