NEW DELHI, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- India's wholesale price index (WPI) declined to 1.89 percent in November, the federal Ministry of Commerce and Industry said on Monday.
The annual rate of inflation based on all India WPI number was 1.89 percent for November, the ministry said.
That was primarily due to increases in prices of food items, manufacturing, textiles, machinery and equipment.
WPI inflation rate was 2.36 percent in October and 1.91 percent in September.
WPI inflation, an indicator of prices in the wholesale market, rises or falls mainly due to steep increases or decreases in commodity prices globally. ■
