JERUSALEM, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz on Wednesday instructed the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to take decisive measures against Hezbollah fighters entering border villages where Israeli troops may still be active.
In a statement, Katz highlighted the recent infiltration of Hezbollah members into the Lebanese border village of Kfar Kila, instructing the military to respond "forcefully and without compromise" to such incidents.
He further emphasized the need to prevent Hezbollah members from accessing areas in southern Lebanon where the IDF has restricted movement.
IDF troops will remain stationed in parts of southern Lebanon as outlined in the ceasefire agreement, which takes effect Wednesday at 4:00 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
The IDF has announced that it will notify civilians when it is safe to return to their villages in southern Lebanon, following the withdrawal of its forces under the agreement. ■
