WARSAW, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Tuesday that Poland will not support a proposed trade agreement between the European Union (EU) and the South American trade bloc Mercosur.
He made the remarks before a government meeting. "We are not alone. Many member states hold a similar opinion," he added.
A group of Polish farmers on Saturday began a blockade of part of the country's border, in protest against the trade agreement.
The EU and Mercosur states - Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay - reached a comprehensive trade agreement in 2019. The EU plans to sign it by the end of the year with the South American trade bloc. ■
