BAGHDAD, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani and visiting Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak discussed here on Tuesday ways to develop and strengthen bilateral ties in various fields, particularly in energy, artificial intelligence applications, and digital cooperation.
A statement by his media office said that al-Sudani, who received Novak and his accompanying delegation in Baghdad, expressed Iraq's desire to establish mechanisms for advancing relations with Russia in a manner that ensures mutual benefits and serves the shared interests of both countries.
For his part, Novak reaffirmed Russia's commitment to cooperating with Iraq, highlighting the progress achieved following al-Sudani's visit to Moscow in October 2023 and the agreements reached to serve the interests of both nations, said the statement. ■
