MEXICO CITY, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Mexico's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 1.6 percent year on year in the third quarter this year, figures released on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) showed.
The revised figure slightly exceeds the preliminary estimate of 1.5 percent reported by Inegi in late October.
The increase was mainly driven by the services sector, which grew by 2.2 percent between July and September. Agricultural and Industrial activities also contribute to the growth.
Mexico, the second-largest economy in Latin America after Brazil, registered economic growth of 3.3 percent last year, according to final figures from Inegi.
The Mexican government projects that its economy will grow at a rate between 2.0 percent and 3.0 percent next year. ■
