TEHRAN, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said two members of its Basij voluntary force were killed Monday in a "terrorist" attack in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, the official news agency IRNA reported.
The two Basij members, identified as Vahid Akbarian and Valiollah Zahedi, were attacked and "martyred by terrorists" in Saravan County on Monday morning as they were en route from work to their homes in a car, the IRNA quoted a statement by the Quds Base of the IRGC's Ground Force as saying.
The statement added further details about the "terrorist" incident would be announced later.
Bordering Pakistan and Afghanistan, Sistan and Baluchestan province has witnessed several "terrorist" attacks on both civilians and security forces in recent years.
On Nov. 10, the IRGC said five Basij members were killed by "thugs in a terrorist incident" in Saravan County. ■
