MUSCAT, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi and Bahrain's Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani co-chaired the eighth session of the Joint Omani-Bahraini Committee on Thursday, discussing ways to enhance cooperation across multiple sectors.
Al Busaidi underscored the close ties between Oman and Bahrain, noting the committee's role in boosting collaborative opportunities, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported. He highlighted significant growth in economic relations, stating that trade between the two nations reached 118 million Omani rials (around 306 million U.S. dollars) by August 2024, alongside increasing joint investments in infrastructure, tourism, logistics, industry, and banking.
Al Zayani, for his part, praised the ongoing political cooperation, saying it encompasses coordination on regional and international challenges. "This cooperation bolsters efforts to support regional peace and stability," he said, according to the ONA. ■
