YANGON, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's authorities have seized over 4 kg of heroin and 28,500 stimulant tablets in Kachin state, the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) said on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotic police intercepted a three-wheeled motorcycle in Mohnyin township of Kachin state last Sunday, and confiscated 4.4 kg of heroin and arrested three suspects.
A further investigation led to the seizure of an additional 28,500 stimulant tablets in the same township on Monday, and one more suspect was arrested.
The total street value of the seized drugs was estimated at 167 million kyats (about 79,523 U.S. dollars).
The four suspects were charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. ■
