HANOI, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam sent 130,640 workers abroad in the first ten months of 2024, surpassing the yearly target by 4 percent, Vietnam News Agency cited the Department of Overseas Labor under the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs on Wednesday.
Japan remained the top importer of manpower from Vietnam, recruiting 62,722 workers, said the report.
The department attributed the early fulfillment of the target to the stability of traditional labor markets, which have continued to employ a large number of Vietnamese workers throughout the January-October period.
Vietnam has set a target to send 125,000 laborers abroad under contractual agreements this year, said the department. ■
