URUMQI, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- The Keriya River originates from the Kunlun mountains, flows north through Yutian County in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and ends at the heart of the Taklimakan desert. Large areas of desert poplars, red willows and reeds grow along the Keriya River. The lower reaches of the river give birth to the Darya Boyi Oasis, where breathtaking natural scenery harmoniously blends with rich humanistic landscapes. In late fall, the forests are painted with warm hues, and the river flows serenely through this picturesque setting.
