HANOI, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's total goods retail sales and consumer service revenues increased by 8.5 percent year on year in the first 10 months of 2024 to over 5.2 quadrillion Vietnamese dong (204.7 billion U.S. dollars), local media Vneconomy reported Friday, citing data from the General Statistics Office.
Specifically, Vietnam's goods retail sales stood at over 4 quadrillion dong (157.4 billion dollars), up 7.8 percent year on year during the 10 months, according to the statistics.
Compared to the same period last year, the restaurant and accommodation revenues increased 12.5 percent to 602.3 trillion dong (23.7 billion dollars), and tourism revenues surged 14.2 percent to 50.3 trillion dong (1.9 billion dollars).
In October alone, revenues of retail sales of consumer goods and services totaled 545.7 trillion dong (21.5 billion dollars), an increase of 7.1 percent year on year, mostly thanks to surges in food and transport revenues, said the office. ■
