PHNOM PENH, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia had exported 507,029 tons of milled rice in the first 10 months of 2024, making a total revenue of 376.6 million U.S. dollars, the Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF) said in a news release on Thursday.
Fifty-five companies had shipped milled rice to 66 countries and regions during the January-October period this year, the news release said, adding that China was still one of the main buyers of the commodity.
Rice varieties that the Southeast Asian country exported included fragrant rice, white rice, parboiled rice, and organic rice.
Meanwhile, the CRF announced that Cambodian premium aromatic rice, Malys Angkor, won an award for the world's best rice for the sixth time during the World Rice Conference 2024 held in Manila, the Philippines on Thursday.
"We would like to appreciate and thank the farmers and rice millers who work hard to grow and mill well to get the best rice award for our country," CRF secretary general Lun Yeng said. "Malys Angkor is a trusted name for Cambodian premium aromatic rice." ■
