HANOI, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's seafood export value exceeded 1 billion U.S. dollars in October, marking the first time since June 2022 the figure reached the 1 billion-dollar mark, Vietnam News cited the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers as reporting on Monday.
Le Hang, the association's communication director, said China was the Vietnam's biggest and fastest-growing seafood importer in October with the significant surge of 37 percent.
Other big importers like the U.S., the EU and Japan reported increases of 31 percent, 27 percent and 22 percent, respectively.
Shrimp and tra fish exports rose sharply last month at 26 percent and 24 percent respectively.
Vietnam earned 8.27 billion dollars from exporting seafood in the first 10 months of this year, up 11.4 percent year on year, according to the association. ■
