NEW YORK, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted east of Kuril Islands at 20:52:00 GMT on Thursday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 43.94 degrees north latitude and 148.98 degrees east longitude. ■
