COLOMBO, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Maldivian parliament on Tuesday approved the government's supplementary budget of 5.1 billion Maldivian rufiyaa (around 330 million U.S. dollars) after a parliamentary committee endorsed it.
According to local media, 1.5 billion rufiyaa (about 97 million dollars) is allocated for recurring expenses, while the remaining 3.6 billion rufiyaa (about 233 million dollars) is designated for capital expenditure.
The supplementary budget will reportedly add to the previously approved 49.8 billion rufiyaa (3.2 billion dollars) budget for the year, bringing the total 2024 budget to 55 billion rufiyaa (3.56 billion dollars). ■
