JERUSALEM, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Israeli Euroleague club Maccabi Tel Aviv announced on Thursday that it has agreed with guard Jordan Loyd on his immediate departure from the team.

The 31-year-old American, who joined the team in July on a two-season contract, decided to leave due to concerns about the security situation in Israel and pressure from his family.

Loyd's last game with Maccabi was the Euroleague away loss to Monaco, 79-85, on Wednesday night, where he recorded a team-high 16 points and four rebounds.

Loyd's career includes 12 NBA games with the Toronto Raptors during the 2018-2019 season, as well as 126 Euroleague appearances with Valencia, Red Star Belgrade, Zenit Saint Petersburg, Monaco, and Maccabi.

Maccabi was Loyd's second Israeli club, following one season with Hapoel Eilat before his stint with Toronto and after playing college basketball at Furman and Indianapolis.
