HANOI, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- The Vietnamese government is striving to register an economic growth rate of 6.8 to 7 percent for 2024, higher than the National Assembly (NA)'s target of 6 percent to 6.5 percent, Vietnam News Agency reported Thursday, citing the latest update from the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
According to the ministry, many economic indicators have surpassed the NA's goals despite unpredictable domestic and global developments, said the ministry.
The country's gross domestic product (GDP) growth target has exceeded forecasts from international organizations.
The Asian Development Bank's projections for Vietnam's economic growth are unchanged at 6 percent in 2024 while the International Monetary Fund forecasts 6.1 percent of GDP growth for Vietnam in 2024. ■
