HONG KONG, Sep. 26 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 jolted Hokkaido, Japan Region at 07:01 GMT on Thursday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 42.80 degrees north latitude and 145.32 degrees east longitude. ■
