SEOUL, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Four domestic and foreign carmakers in South Korea will voluntarily recall some 917,000 vehicles for manufacturing defects, the transport ministry said Wednesday.

Hyundai Motor will recall 620,349 units of five different models, including Grandeur sedan, to fix the poor durability of the hydraulic electronic control unit (HECU), and 201,393 units of Grand Starex van for the poor durability of the fastening in engine parts, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

The HECU's poor durability also prompted a recall on 89,469 units of Mohave SUV and 3,233 units of Sportage SUV from Kia Corp. affiliated with Hyundai.

Man Truck & Bus Korea will repair the faulty crankshaft main bearings in 1,829 units of four models, including TGS dump truck.

Scania Korea Group will take corrective actions on 1,274 units of cargo truck due to the defective connecting parts in the steering system.

Vehicle owners can visit repair and service centers to replace the faulty parts free of charge.
