HONG KONG, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong stock market saw broad-based gains Tuesday with the benchmark Hang Seng Index soaring 4.13 percent to close at 19,000.56 points, the highest level since May this year, as a slew of pro-growth measures boosted investor confidence.

The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index jumped 5.09 percent to end at 6,714.47 points, while the Hang Seng Tech Index surged 5.88 percent to end at 3,915.58 points.

The gains came after a slew of measures announced by China's financial regulators Tuesday as the latest attempts to shore up growth and inject vitality into the stock market.

China will cut the reserve requirement ratio by 0.5 percentage points in the near future, providing about 1 trillion yuan (about 141.78 billion U.S. dollars) in long-term liquidity to the financial market, the People's Bank of China announced. It also announced a cut in the interest rate of seven-day reverse repos, while pledging to lower mortgage rates on existing home loans to vitalize the property market.
