BERLIN, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- New signing Michael Olise bagged a brace as Bayern Munich maintained their perfect record in the Bundesliga with a 5-0 win over Werder Bremen on Saturday.

Bayern started brightly and controlled the game from the outset, with Konrad Laimer hitting the woodwork after just eight minutes, before Olise opened the scoring in the 23rd minute after being set up by Harry Kane.

Bayern continued to dominate and doubled their lead in the 32nd minute when Olise cut inside the Bremen defense before finding Jamal Musiala, who slotted home from close range.

After the restart, Bremen managed to keep the German giants at bay, but couldn't create any real scoring chances.

Vincent Kompany's side put the result beyond doubt in the 57th minute when Kane got on the scoresheet himself after latching onto Olise's through ball.

Bayern weren't done with the scoring and pinned Bremen back three minutes later when Olise completed his brace with a 13-meter strike into the top left-hand corner.

Bremen conceded shortly afterwards when Serge Gnabry burst into the box with all the time and space before finishing with a right-foot shot into the bottom right-hand corner to make it 5-0.

The result lifts Bayern to 12 points from four games and continues their flawless start to the season.

"It was a dangerous game for us, but the boys simply did a great job. The pressure is always on us to win and play well. It worked out today, which is good for us. It was a great atmosphere and just a good game," said Bayern coach Kompany.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Freiburg moved up to second in the table as Vincenzo Grifo's second-half brace paved the way for a 3-0 win over Heidenheim. Two goals in six minutes helped Union Berlin notch a 2-1 home win over Hoffenheim. Newly promoted Holstein Kiel avoided defeat after a late 2-2 draw with Bochum, while Eintracht Frankfurt climbed to third with a 2-0 win over Monchengladbach.

Mainz eked out a 3-2 win over Augsburg in a nail-biting encounter on Friday.
