ISTANBUL, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- The number of cruise tourists in Türkiye reached 306,100 in August, setting the highest record in 11 years, local media reported Thursday.
Those tourists were brought to Türkiye by 176 cruise ships, the Demiroren news agency reported, adding that the country has welcomed 1.2 million cruise tourists so far this year via 750 cruise ships.
Kusadasi and Istanbul are among the popular Turkish cruise destinations, it reported.
Meanwhile, according to the online tourism news platform tourismtoday.net, port cities in the Black Sea region, such as Trabzon, Sinop, Amasra, and Samsun, have become new hubs for cruise tourism in Türkiye. ■
