ISLAMABAD, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar paid an official visit to Iran on Tuesday to attend the investiture ceremony of Iran's president Masoud Pezeshkian, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said.
On behalf of the people and government of Pakistan, the deputy prime minister conveyed a message of felicitations and best wishes for the Iranian president on his assumption of office, the ministry said in a statement.
Dar also congratulated the Iranian nation on the successful and smooth transition of power to the new political administration.
The deputy prime minister also expressed support and solidarity with the new Iranian administration and Pakistan's commitment to further consolidate ties with Iran, according to the Pakistani foreign ministry. ■
