RAMALLAH, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Two Palestinians were killed by the Israeli army gunfire in two separate incidents in the West Bank on Tuesday, Palestinian sources said.
Mohammad Jaradat, 14, was shot dead by the Israeli army at the Beit Ainun roundabout, north of Hebron in southern West Bank, Palestinian security sources told Xinhua.
In a statement, the Israeli army said it had killed a Palestinian who attempted to carry out a stabbing attack against "our forces operating at the Beit Ainun junction," adding that no injuries were reported on the Israeli side.
In the northern West Bank city of Nablus, a 45-year-old man named Ramadan Sadiq was shot dead by the Israeli army during a raid in the Khallet al-Amoud area, east of the city, medical sources told Xinhua.
The West Bank has witnessed escalating tension and armed confrontations in various cities, villages, and camps since the start of the conflict in the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7, 2023. ■
