LYON, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Argentina held off Ukraine 2-0 to advance to the men's soccer quarterfinals of the Paris Olympic Games on Tuesday.
Thiago Almada opened the scoring in the 47th minute before Claudio Echeverri sealed the win for Argentina with a strike in the injury time.
With the win, Argentina finished second to Morocco, which beat Iraq 3-0 on Tuesday, in Group B.
In the quarterfinals, Argentina are to take on hosts France, while Morocco will face the United States. ■
