MANAMA, June 19 (Xinhua) -- The Bahrain Interior Ministry said on Wednesday that it had set up a special investigation committee to review cases of all Bahraini citizenship granted from 2010 onwards.
The committee was formed after the country's Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs revealed that "some individuals received Bahraini citizenship in violation of the law or through providing wrong information and data or forged documents."
The committee will verify the accuracy of the documents used to acquire Bahraini citizenship and take necessary legal measures. ■
