BUENOS AIRES, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Racing Club rose to fourth in Argentina's Primera Division standings on Monday with a 3-0 home win over 10-man Argentinos Juniors.

Gaston Martirena put the hosts ahead with a 26th-minute strike before Johan Carbonero and Roger Martinez each added goals after the interval at El Cilindro.

The visitors were forced to play for more than half an hour with only 10 men after Francisco Alvarez was shown a second yellow card for a rash challenge on Adrian Martinez.

"I think we played well given the way Argentinos Juniors were set up," Racing manager Gustavo Costas told a news conference.

"It was difficult because they basically had four permanent forwards. But we were smart and were able to absorb their pressure in a mature way. It's a satisfying outcome."

Racing have four points from their first two games of the season while Argentinos Juniors are 15th in the 28-team standings, a point further back.

In other Primera Division fixtures on Monday, Lanus drew 1-1 at San Lorenzo, Estudiantes eased to a 2-0 home win over Deportivo Riestra and Rosario Central were held to a 1-1 home draw by Tigre.
