Tianjin steps up its eco-city development via usage of clean power

TIANJIN, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- Recently, a 500-kilovolt power transmission and transformation project featuring clean energy has been connected to the grid and has begun generating power in Binhai New Area, north China's Tianjin Municipality, marking a new stage of development for the eco-city.
Now, the total installed capacity of renewable power in the area reached 2.977 million kilowatts, including 2.938 million kilowatts of wind power and photovoltaic power and 39,000 kilowatts of biomass power.
