ISLAMABAD, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- A bomb went off in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday afternoon, leaving at least 10 people injured including policemen, rescuers and police officers said.
According to police in the area, a police van was targeted with an improvised explosive device planted on a motorcycle in Ponda Bazar area of Dera Ismail Khan district of the province.
Following the incident, a heavy contingent of police along with rescue teams reached the area and shifted the wounded to a nearby hospital, where at least two persons were said to be in critical condition.
Security forces cordoned off the place and kicked off a search operation in surrounding areas.
No group or individual claimed responsibility for the blast. ■
