TALUQAN, Afghanistan, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Casualties were feared as a blast rocked Taluqan city, the capital of Afghanistan's northern Takhar province on Saturday, a local television channel the Tolonews reported.
Quoting unnamed sources, the media outlet reported that the blast took place near the gate of the provincial police headquarters in Taluqan city on Saturday evening.
The local media Amu TV said that the blast was caused by a magnetic bomb planted near the entrance gate of the provincial police headquarters in the city.
The Taliban administration has yet to make a comment. No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the incident. ■
