WASHINGTON, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Maxi Kleber drilled a 3-pointer at the buzzer as the Dallas Mavericks edged the Los Angeles Lakers 111-110, while DeMar DeRozan scored a season-high 49 points in the Chicago Bulls' 139-131 double overtime victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday.

Kleber scored six of his 10 points in the final 7.2 seconds. The German big man first hit three free throws after Anthony Davis fouled him on a 3-point attempt.

Then Davis made just one of two free throws for Los Angeles after being fouled on the ensuing inbounds pass. Dallas got the ball to Kyrie Irving, who drew a double-team and found Kleber for his only 3-pointer made throughout the game at the buzzer.

Irving scored 38 points, including 13 points in the fourth quarter of his return from a three-game injury absence.

Davis had 26 points and 10 rebounds for the Lakers, who couldn't make a field goal in the final 3:16. Despite leading by four points and having the ball in the final minute, Los Angeles still lost for the third time in four games.

Austin Reaves scored 16 points for Los Angeles, and Dennis Schroder had 15. Los Angeles overcame a nine-point deficit to begin the fourth quarter, but could not hold on to their momentum with LeBron James sitting out his 10th straight game.

DeRozan was helped by Zach LaVine with 39 points, and Nikola Vucevic with 21 points and 11 rebounds.

The Bulls led 130-125 in the second OT before Mike Conley hit a 3-pointer. DeRozan made a turnaround jumper to push Chicago's lead to 132-128 with 1:27 remaining.

Vucevic had a thunderous one-handed dunk for a three-point play with over a minute left, and DeRozan made four free throws in the final 36 seconds to help Chicago come through a nail-biting game.

Conley sank 8 of 12 3-pointers to lead Minnesota with 28 points. Rudy Gobert finished with 21 points and 19 rebounds.

Also on Friday, Joel Embiid had 38 points and 13 rebounds in just 29 minutes as the Philadelphia 76ers routed the Charlotte Hornets 121-82, the Atlanta Hawks beat the Golden State Warriors 127-119, the Cleveland Cavaliers registered a 117-94 victory over the Washington Wizards, the Houston Rockets stunned the New Orleans Pelicans 114-112, the Memphis Grizzlies came back from a 29-point deficit in the third quarter to defeat the San Antonio Spurs 126-120, and the Boston Celtics held off the Portland Trail Blazers 126-112.
