BRASILIA, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Foreign direct investment (FDI) in the Brazilian economy reached 52.63 billion U.S. dollars between January and July, the highest level for the same period since 2012, when it totaled 56.4 billion U.S. dollars, according to a report released Monday by the Central Bank of Brazil.

In July alone, FDI inflow in the South American country totaled 7.72 billion U.S. dollars, compared to 6.64 billion U.S. dollars in July of last year.

The FDI inflow reflects the recovery of Latin America's largest economy, whose economic growth is estimated at 2.67 percent in 2022, according to financial market analysts.

The central bank's FDI forecast for 2022 is 55 billion U.S. dollars, while the financial market's estimate is 61 billion U.S. dollars.

Last year, Brazil's FDI totaled 46.44 billion U.S. dollars.
