BEIJING, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai Shenhua claimed a 2-0 victory over Beijing Guoan, continuing a run of three consecutive wins in the 2022 Chinese Super League (CSL) here on Friday.
In the 30th minute, Yu Hanchao opened the scoring for Shanghai from Wen Jiabao's assist, while their Cameroonian teammate Christian Bassogog converted a penalty kick five minutes later, ending the first half with a 2-0 lead over Beijing.
Beijing pulled off some fierce counterattacks in the second half but failed to level off.
This Saturday will see Shanghai Port take on Tianjin, Guangzhou City face Chengdu Rongcheng, while Wuhan Yangtze will meet Shandong Taishan. ■
