COPENHAGEN, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- For Madeleine Dupont, captain of the Danish Women's Curling Team, attending the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics is a significant moment in her life.

"Qualifying for the Olympics was a significant achievement, and one of the most memorable moments of my life," said Dupont, who is competing in her third Olympic Games.

Danish curling is a relatively amateur sport. Dupont currently works as a client manager for TV2 in Denmark, a position that allows her to travel while working.

"The Beijing Winter Olympics will be a very well-organized tournament with a pleasant environment in which one can feel secure within the Olympic Village's bubble," Dupont told Xinhua.

"I'm anticipating that the Winter Olympics Village will be well-organized and close to perfect. There will be a lot of things to do, gaming rooms, and opportunities to simply relax," said Dupont, whose elder sister Denise Dupont is also a member of the national team.

"My sister and I make up our team," Madeleine Dupont explained. "We've been playing for nearly 25 years, making us the team's veterans."

"There are also younger players on the team, all of whom are 22 years old. In my opinion, it's an excellent blend of youthful vitality and more experienced players. That, I believe, is what sets this team apart," she said.

On Feb. 8, the Danish Women's Curling team, led by the Dupont sisters, will face China in the opening match.
