BEIJING, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- China's postal industry saw steady expansion in business revenue and parcels handled in 2021, data from the State Post Bureau (SPB) shows.
The sector raked in over 1.26 trillion yuan (about 197.87 billion U.S. dollars) in the period, up 14.5 percent year on year, while its business volume soared 25.1 percent over one year earlier, according to the bureau.
China's courier companies handled 108.3 billion parcels last year, surging 29.9 percent from a year earlier. Their combined business revenue topped 1.03 trillion yuan during the period, a yearly increase of 17.5 percent.
The SPB expected the total revenue of China's postal industry to grow by 11 percent year on year in 2022, while that of the courier sector is projected to rise 12 percent from the previous year. ■
