BUENOS AIRES, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Former Liverpool and Atletico Madrid defender Emiliano Insua is poised to join Racing Club from Argentine rivals Aldosivi, according to media reports in the South American country.
The 33-year-old left-back has agreed to personal terms and will sign a two-year deal with the Buenos Aires outfit pending a medical, news outlet TyC Sports said on Saturday.
Insua made 25 appearances for Aldosivi after joining the Mar del Plata club from LA Galaxy last February.
He has been capped five times for Argentina in a career that has also included spells at Boca Juniors, Galatasaray, Sporting Lisbon, Rayo Vallecano and Stuttgart.
The first stage of Argentina's 2022 top flight season will run from February 11 to May 22. ■
