WARSAW, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Slovenia won in Saturday's ski jumping team competition of the FIS World Cup in Zakopane, Poland.

The team coached by Robert Hrgota claimed the title thanks to a stunning jump by Peter Prevc to 133.5 meters. Slovenia led the first round after the efforts of Timi Zajc and Anze Lanizek, followed by Germany and Japan, while Kazakhstan fell out of the competition.

In the final round, Slovenia controlled the contest from the first jump to the last to secure their third victory on the hill in Zakopane.

The spectators saw a fierce fight for second place. Japan put pressure on Germany as Ryoyu Kobayashi jumped 135.5m. However, Karl Geiger's jump of 137m gifted Horngacher's team the sliver with 0.6 points advantage over Japan.

The Poles finished sixth without the leader of the team Kamil Stoch, who caught an ankle injury during Wednesday's training. The performance of the three-time Olympic champion at Beijing 2022 is still in question.

The individual competition of the FIS World Cup in Zakopane is scheduled for Sunday.
